AES were asked to do an
environmental impact assessment with particular
attention to about 60 nesting pairs of little
penguin, protected as part of the coastal
ecosystem under the Tasmanian coastal policy. The
joint planning application and rezoning was
contested by numerous third parties following
submissions by third parties, including the State
environment department. The applications were
heard by the Resource Planning and Development
Commission.
