AES was commissioned to produce a
cetacean identification CD-ROM and sighting
report facility to help improve awareness of
cetaceans within the oil and gas industry. The
final product combines high and medium quality
imagery and video of most species. The emphasis
was on field-identification, so a range of at-sea
images were provided including some that would
provide a 'real' indication of what was likely to
be seen. This was accompanied by text describing
ways of identifying animals and telling them apart
from other species.
